Orange Juice Alternative

Orange Juice Alternative
Kiwi Orange Smoothie.  A Great Snack
Oh! Yea  this tasted like orange juice.  Citrusy, sweet... smooth.

The flax milk made it smoothe.  The kiwi made it fresh and the orange oil gave it a bright orange aroma and citrus bite.  Highly recommended smoothie.

I like DoTerra brand essential oils because I trust their quality.  Not all oils can be used topically or internally.  Be sure to read the label of your favorite brand.  If you'd like to shop DoTerra here's the place:  http://www.doterra.myvoffice.com/lorrinda/

Some facts about Wild Orange Essential Oil from here:
http://www.everythingessential.me/Oils/WildOrange.html

Wild Orange offers one of the most dynamic fragrances of essential oils.  The combined, proven antifungal, antibacterial, and antidepressant properties make it one of the most powerful and aromatic oils to use.  It is excellent for disinfecting and killing fungus and pathogens, while relieving stress. It can be both energizing and uplifting, while being sedative by instilling feelings of peace. It is used in the treatment of anorexia, and has been used as an anti-cancer agent.  It is highly recommended for use during the early stages of cold and flu.  DōTerra Wild Orange, is of the botanical family Rutaceae, grown in the Dominican Republic, with the oil expressed from the peel of the fruit.

Typical Applications
Diffuse Wild Orange for its effectiveness killing pathogens, and enjoy its incredible aroma while it disinfects and kills bacteria.  It is an excellent oil to diffuse in a car during long trips.  Wild Orange is certified by the FDA to be GRAS and 1-2 drops in ¼ cup of water can be taken internally for acid reflux or heartburn. Use topically for a calming, yet invigorating,  massage.  Use in a spritz to spray bed sheets or as an fragrant pathogen killing spray in bathrooms and kitchens. Use with a carrier to sooth an infant’s tummy.  Use topically in a massage during the early stages of a cold."

Natural Muscle Relaxant

Before I knew anything about teas, I had heard of Chamomile tea; that it was good for relaxing is all I knew.  Chamomile tea is made from daisy-like plants that have been used as a traditional medicine for thousands of years.    The flowers have a somewhat apple scent.  Chamomile tea has been used for centuries in teas as a mild, relaxing sleep aid, treatment for fevers, colds, stomach ailments, and as an anti-inflammatory.

Chamomile has therapeutic activities including antispasmodic, antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-allergenic.  Another one of its properties, anti-peptic cause me some concern.  Anti-peptic means to inhibit the action of pepsin.  Pepsin is a digestive enzyme that degrades food (bigger) proteins into peptides(smaller proteins).  Peptides are digested better since they are smaller.  Glutamine and creatine peptides are very popular as supplements to end up with quicker (nutrition) absorption.  I was taking L-Glutamine for a few weeks when being treated for leaky gut syndrome.  With all of that said, I believe, for me, it is best to drink Chamomile at least 3 hours after a meal so as not to inhibit any nutrition absorption.  Coming to this conclusion is very good timing because as I began to write this article, I took this pretty picture of my chamomile buds right after dinner (fish salad soup).  Fish Salad Soup was made from Honey Bear’s left over grilled tilapia with herbs – yummy!

Organic Chamomile Flower Buds

Salad Soup was a salad with “gravy”…  a combination of water, vinegar, salad dressing and spices.

Healthy and Savory Meal

Chamomile relaxes muscles by increasing certain amino acids that signal the brain to tell the muscle to relax. Of course the old stand-by of using warmth (if swelling, then cold) to relax the muscle still applies, but if that fails or if you want an alternative, Chamomile is a safe choice.
Chamomile may be used internally or externally. Internally, it reduces gas and has a mild flavor.   A Chamomile enema helps to calm the body and has a soothing effect on the liver and digestive system.  To make a chamomile enema, add 1 tablespoon of chamomile flower heads to a jug.  Pour ½ litre (2 cups) of boiling filtered water onto the flower heads.  Leave to infuse for 20-30 minutes.  Strain the mixture and add water to make a 1 litre (4 cups/quart) solution.  Make sure the mixture is body temperature before using enema accessories and enema technique to retain the liquid for 15-30 minutes and expel.

I am used to doing the coffee enema at home and purchased the Gerson Therapy starter kit from http://www.newlifesupplies.com/  This kit came with Organic Chamomile Flowers (pictured above).  I also really like bagged Chamomile and mint tea that I got from Whole Foods.

Until today, I did not realize Chamomile was used as a muscle relaxant. The right side of my abdomen is hurting from falling forward onto a foot stool that I was carrying and this tea should help with those spasms.

Food Sensitivity to Chicken and Onions

Created on Canva.com to have something cute to help me remember.

What?  No Chicken and onions.  That doesn't even seem American?  This is the results from the 150 food sensitivity test.    Fructose was also on my list of stuff to avoid.  I found this info here:

  • Fructose malabsorption. People with fructose malabsorption have difficulty digesting fructose. This is a less serious disorder because it doesn't result in liver or kidney damage. But it can cause abdominal pain, gas, bloating and diarrhea.
I am here to tell ya, that I am doing the abdominal pain, gas, and bloating thing like a champ.  I was on a date last night and had to be excused for such activity.

Caffeine will be hard to give up.  I have some Teavana herbal tea so I will have to drink more of that.

BeverageCaffeine Per 8 oz Cup
White Tea30-55 mg
Green Tea35-70 mg
Oolong Tea     50-75 mg
Black Tea60-90 mg
Coffee150-200 mg
I just had some 1 drop of DoTerra lemon essential oil in white tea.  That felt so, so.  The lemon oil usually does great.  I suppose it was the caffeine in the white tea that wasn't working.  I plan to have boiled eggs and sauteed spinach for dinner.  We'll see what happens.

Soused Seaweed

Soused Seaweed

Surprisingly, this tastes like southern souse meat to me.  I always liked souse meat (elsewhere called head cheese, brawn or other names) as an occasional, pleasant shock to the taste buds.  I didn't eat it that often because it would make me queasy after a while to think of what was actually in the meat jelly.  Well, today's creation was quite by accident.  I volunteered to do community service at the Center for Community Leadership and I wanted a take-along that did not need to be refrigerated, and would be savory, satisfying and interesting on my tongue.

It all started with "Seaweed Salad on the Go" -   - prepared as instructed.

To that a can of Bumblebee Sensations Lemon & Pepper Tuna Medley was mixed in.  Next, a tablespoon of olive bruschetta and dill relish was added with a topping of popcorn sized cauliflower florets and smoked paprika.

Sour, meaty, hearty, vinegary and having been marinating for nearly 2 hours into my shift -- was a pleasant culinary distraction from the clamor in the training room and the lobby.

I called Costco and they have a seaweed salad called Azuma Gourmet in the refrigerated meat section; 28 oz  for $11.99.  That sounds pretty good because I paid about $15.00 for 6 (individually packaged) ounces.  I'll need to try that version to see if it marries with this new, exciting, nostalgic lunch box food.

Homemade Almond Milk

Homemade Almond Milk

1/2 cup raw almonds soaked 4 hours or overnight.
Drain and rinse them.  Blend with 3 cups water and strain.
Can make unsweetened, unflavored or add pitted dates, cinnamon or vanilla, etc to taste. Use less water to make thicker.

Homemade Almond Milk

I really like to add 5 drops of vanilla cream stevia and 5 drops of coffee flavor with 8 ounces of water to take Hepata Gest powder.

7:18 am
Finished intestinal drink and set timer for 1 hour 30 minutes ago.

8:34 am
Finished nutritional drink and supplements.  Did 10 minutes rebounding.  Washed some of the dishes.  Set timer for 1 hour.

9:30 am
Set timer back to 30 minutes and drank 12 oz water.  Did 7  Tricep Couch Dips.  Tee hee  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0326dy_-CzM

2:11 pm
Finished nutritional drink and supplements.  Set timer for 30 min.

3:20 pm
Ummm... had visitors so I think I'm off track.....  well, I did do the charcoal and 12 oz of water.  The next thing is the intestinal drink.

5:09 pm
Finished intestinal drink and drank 12 oz. water.

7:12 pm
I did the charcoal about 1/2 hour ago...  I think I missed it earlier...  Gonna have to come up with another system to stay on track...  thinking I'll do a simple check-off/log sheet.  Yea that's it.  A log sheet.  It's always about the process.

8:59 pm
Finished the nutritional drink, but I think one of the pills went down the wrong way.  I'll be crushing and splitting pills that don't have some time-lapse requirement/feature.

10:00 pm
Finished intestinal drink - going to watch hungry girl show and go to sleep.

Day 3
Tuesday, August 13

8:52 am
Last night I went to bed at 10:30PM. Time to fall asleep 6min. Times awakened 11. You were in bed for 9hrs 0min. Actual sleep time 8hrs 16min.

8:50 pm
Way off track today.  Firstly, I woke up at 8am instead of 6am then breakfast seemed to be around noon... then there was an appointment... now I made a checklist and trying to see what I can salvage from this day.  I am feeling super tired, but that may either be from the massage, the vibration machine or the fact that I haven't had enough calories today - at all, BUT I am not hungry.  I am, however, thirsty.

Day 4-10

Got back on track and went the full 10 days!  On day 10 started the magnesium cocktail (chilled 4 tablespoons epsom salt & 4 cups of water) at 3:30 pm, ending at 8:30 pm.  Felt seriously queasy several times and really fought to hold back the chuck at one point - but managed to only let go a bit of the cocktail.  My mistake was trying to cut up onions for the veggie soup that I'd been planning in my head for several days.

In fact, I went shopping at Trader Joe's on day 9 and on the way home, I opened the containers of hummus, cornichons, , curry sauces, arrabiata sauce and goddess dressing just to 'eat' them with my nose.  I really seemed that I could 'taste' them by smelling them.

Around 10:30 pm after taking the flush catalyst drink (1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil and 1/2 cup of orange juice), I lay on my right side somewhat inclined on pillows on hercules (giant chaise couch) and i didn't feel any quivering of the liver indicating stones were being spewed to the intestine.  This made me a little disappointed and I thought all of this effort would be for naught.  Maybe it had something to do with the incline, but after about 30 minutes, the move to the bed was uneventful.

On day 10 at 9am, I went to see Dr. Fleming and moved two 9 amalgams.

The next morning (day 11) I woke up at 3am and drank 1/2 cup catalyst at rising and the other 1/2 an hour later.  I counted 100 stones that were decent sized.  There were many more of them that were ballpoint pinhead sized that I didn't count. I had colon hydrotherapy and a nutrient IV and saw only one more significant stone, but more yeast and such.

There ARE alternatives:
"Patients who have gallstones and no symptoms are simply followed because there is less than 1 percent risk of the patient becoming symptomatic. Patients with significant symptoms are treated with pain control and surgical removal of the gallbladder."

Detox Day 1

Sunday, 08/11/2013 6:26 am 268.3 lbs 50.9% fat

Last night I went to bed at 10:12 PM and it took me 10 minutes to fall asleep.  I was awakened 8 times and slept for 7 hours 53 minutes with a pee break at 3:30 am.

7:15 am - just finished making a one day supply of the intestinal drink and drank the 3oz lemon and fiber drink.  Set the timer for 1 hour.  I am a little behind because the schedule says that I should have done this at 6am or so... but we will see how this works out.  I feel the drink in my eyes, kinda the way the 4 carrot-3 celery-2 apple breakfast drink that I like feels.  It would be nice to not smoke during these 10 days to be on the way to a 21-day break habit ideal, but nothing doing.  I think I'm scared of a healing reaction from stopping abruptly or maybe I'm just so addicted to them that I continue to tell myself any lie to keep puffing.  The drink tastes like hard lemonade.

Day 1 thru 10 do the schedule below.  On the morning of day 11 do colon hydrotherapy or coffee enema

Well, it's 8:20 am... time to make the nutritional drink.  Be back soon.

9:50 am
Made the drink.  It looks like coffee.  I have some coffee flavoring that I am toying with adding.  I put the drink in a Starbucks Frappuccino bottle just for fun and to make the shaking easier when the mixture settled.  I needed a few gulps of water to get down all the pills.   Took the adrenals and got on the rebounder for 10 minutes.  Set the timer for 1 hour.  I might have to change the times on my schedule.  We'll see.  Going to read.

10:56 am
Just drank 12 oz of water and took the charcoal.  I didn't get much reading done.  I mainly just lay on my back thinking about my thoughts. Set the timer for 1 hour.

12:22 pm
Sipping the remains of the intestinal drink after a tiny bm.  Enjoying the alluring scent of diffused lemon essential oil.  FitBit just awarded me the 50 lifetime miles badge - yay.  Set the timer for 1 hour.

1:04 pm
Turned the timer back to 45 minutes because though I should sip the 5 oz portion of the intestinal drink from 5-20 minutes... I think I took much longer than that so I am giving it a little more time before the next activity.  I've gotta get going here if I am to be in bed by 10:00 pm.

1:46 pm
Took a 10 minute nap.  The phone rang.  Drank 12 oz of water and made the nutritional drink and put it in the freezer.  Took adrenals.  Did 10 minutes of rebounding and downed the nutritional drink and supplements.

2:18 pm
Set timer for 1 hour. Next is after lunch stuffs. At least I am only 1 hour behind now.

3:25 pm
Drank 12 oz of water and took charcoal.  Set timer for 1 hour.  Feeling full and tired of "eating."

4:30 pm
Took a 7 minute nap. Sipping on intestinal drink.

5:26 pm
Drank 12 oz water.

6:58 pm
Nutritional drink is in the freezer.  Set timer for 10 minutes rebounding.

7:38 pm
Finished dinner.  Set timer for 1 hour.

9:19 pm
Finished the liver pack and sipping the last intestinal drink with castor oil.

9:41 pm
Finished all for the day.  Headed to watch a quick cooking video and go to bed.

Tahini Ranch Dip

Tahini Ranch Dip

1/2c raw sesame seeds
1/4c red bell pepper
1tbsp tahini
1/2 tsp dry dill
1/2c zucchini
2 garlic cloves
1/4c water
Juice of 1 lemon
salt & pepper to taste

Put everything in blender and blend 'til smooth.  Makes about 1 cup.

One cup of dip is a lot for one person so take some of it and stir-fry some cauliflower & EVOO and make a side of stir-fry spinach with onions and mushrooms and you've got a meal and likely only 1/4 cup dip left. The rest of the dip can likely be eaten the next day snacking on carrots, celery or the rest of the head of cauliflower.

Gut Feeling

The gut has 80% of my immune system.
GALT - gut associated lymphatic tissue
There is a brain around my gut is bigger and more active than the brain inside my skull.
90% of our serotonin which is the neurotransmitter associated with well being and happiness is produced in the gut of a healthy person.  Inflammation is mostly turned on in the immune system around the gut.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEWcGGyEhxs

A healthy human being has more bacteria (good bacteria) in their gut than cells in the rest of their body.  There are so many functions the intestinal flora actually perform; one of them is to function as a satellite liver.

40% of the toxins that we are exposed to are detoxified by the intestinal flora and if you kill them off
you'll be taxing your liver; and that can zap your energy.

There are nutrients that are made available only if they are pre-digested by the intestinal flora; a prime
example are the B vitamins; that's why fermented foods are so good for us.

Prebiotic shake (food for the good bacteria)
10 oz almond milk
1/2 cup blueberries
1 medium banana
1 handful of baby spinach
1 scoop plant-based protein powder
1 tsp apple cider vinegar

followed by a probiotic.

For the digestive tube:
Bad bacteria and yeast organize themselves into something called the biofilm.  The bacteria starts sticking
or melding together so to speak.  When the biofilm gets thick enough it prevents nutrients from getting
through into your intestine.  And if you have toxins, the toxins get stuck in it -- they get sequestered. Now, you've got toxic stuff held next to your gut, the nutrients can't get through there.  It's a perfect storm.

Berberine was recommend as one of the supplements that can dissolve the film.  400mg every afternoon.  Berberine has been used in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine; thousands of years old.

GALT - Gut associated lymphatic tissue which is basically speaking; your immune system.  80% of the immune system is around your intestines.  GALT is the most transitive border between the inside and the outside of your body.  The immune system is located there to make sure that nothing foreign gets into your blood.

The recommendation is to take L-Glutamine (1,000 mg) with the Berberine in the afternoon.  The intestinal wall protects the GALT from seeing what is inside the digestive tube; that's

1. good bacteria
2. bad bacteria
3. undigested food
4. parasites
5. yeast

When we have gaps in the cells of the intestinal wall creating a condition called hyperpermeability or (leaky gut); that is when the immune system goes into attack.  By promoting the growth of the cells and the re-covering of those gaps, you will calm down the immune system and save it from consuming all that energy that can be diverted for other things.

The last part of the 3 day cleanse as was on the Dr. Oz show is to jumpstart something Dr. Junger says a lot of people are calling the second brain. Around the intestines is a huge nervous system.  There are more neurons around the intestines (second brain) than are in the brain in your skull.  This is where 80-90% of the serotonin in your body is being manufactured along with many other neurotransmitters.  When the gut is dysfunctional; where there's hyperpermeability, disbiosis, biofilm, bad bacteria, parasites and other organisms, the GALT starts attacking all those things, and the nervous system in the gut participates in all of the adaptation and survival mechanisms and consumes a lot of other functions such as producing serotonin.  Without serotonin, you feel down which is why the second brain (the nerves around the intestines) are so important.  Before bed take 250 mg magnesium to stabilize the nervous system.  Magnesium is one of the things that we are most depleted of.  This will allow you to sleep better and stabilize your moods.

Colon Hydrotherapy Yeast

I saw the yellow yeast flakes and gas bubbles floating through the colonic machine tube.  I've seen the flaky stuff in the stool, but I thought it was lettuce.  I'll change the 300mg magnesium to bedtime and the armour thyroid to morning on an empty stomach.  I left the therapy and got a lemon filled Krispy Kreme donut, two peach pies and a big mac.  Sweet.  Literally.  Researching prebiotics to feed the probiotics I take every morning.

Me Myself and I

"Me is who you see.  I am who I see.  Myself is who I am."  ~lorrinda

...so who am I?  I am who I say I am.  Because you may see it, but if I don't then I may be ruled by who I see rather than myself (who I am).  I have a self and she belongs to me and her name is my.
