This blog has been a place for me to let out some of the thoughts that I have as well as share some of the things I've learned.
As a business owner in particular, and as a human in general, the one commodity that every race is won or lost on is time. I have none today because yesterday I went bald. On purpose. And plan to do it again and again.
Fashion is something I can take and leave, especially since it is not my area of expertise. My expertise has had a much larger bearing on the quality of my life than my fashion sense (or my hair) has had.
In fact, I can clearly count many instances when doing my hair was the thing I needed to do and hated to do all at once. Lots of women enjoy it. I just don't. It's a necessary evil, at best, in my world.
So, I turned 50, did a #bigchop and got a sassy wig (or two). The freedom I feel is tremendous. I had something like an accomplice too... Her website is RindaFierce.com - She is a bald beauty that makes custom wigs... right across town. She made the one in the photo above and she did the #bigchop honors.
She had her own #bigchop experience and could relate to the chains of coily haircare. The products, the procedures, the TIME! All of it for what? Beauty. Well I am not in the beauty business.
The business that I am in takes up a great deal of my time and it pays the bills. The hair took up a great deal of my time and it was just an expense. Hmmm... no brainer.
When I think about what is really going on, I realize that I went bald for the same reasons that I went into business. More control over what I do everyday and when.
I am bald and I am free.
